Parks and Recreation Commission was created by
the Flint Township Board of Trustees in 1993.
The Commission includes three members appointed
by the Township Board and three members appointed
by the Carman-Ainsworth Board of Education. The
other six Commission members appoint a seventh
member.

The Commission has, along with the West Flint
Business Association, completed a comprehensive
Flint Township, "Quality of Life" survey assessing
residents' opinions on the quality of life in
Flint Township. The survey sought information
from Flint Township voters on:
- Satisfaction with living conditions
- Neighborhood issues
- Township issues
- Ideas to improve the Township Need for public
parks
- Their feelings towards a park mileage
According
to the survey, Township residents report high
levels of satisfaction and enjoyment living in
the Township.
- 68% feel the Township is headed in the right
direction.
- 93% enjoy living in the Township to a great
[52%] or moderate [41%] extent.
- 82% report they have made good friends with
others in their neighborhood.
